Parents of young piano students know the drill: the kid loses count, stares at the page, drags through the piece half-tempo, then somehow still can not find beat 1.
Voice mode fixes exactly that step. The metronome calls out "one, two, three, four" in a child-friendly voice on every beat — the kid has a built-in practice buddy that does not get tired, does not check its phone, and never raises its voice. You can go make dinner.
70 BPM is the right starting tempo for this age — slow enough that attention holds, fast enough that it still feels like music. Open the app and let the kid clap along with the voice for a minute before they touch the keyboard. Once they can sustain it for a full minute without breaking, push to 80.
The app pre-sets to 70 BPM, 4/4, voice count mode. To adjust, use the controls inside the app after it loads.
